Mystery Monday – What Family does Dinah Shackford, Belong To? She died in Newburyport on July 6, 1806 (Blog 404)

Dinah Shackford’s name is listed in very nice handwriting in the Newburyport Town Clerk listing of deaths followed by the date July 6, 1806.

She’s also listed on page 783 of the 1911 Vital Records of Newburyport Massachusetts to the End of the Year 1849 Volume II Marriages and Deaths (which probably was created from the Town Records).  That books however has some more information – a note next to her name stating a. 28y. C. R. 3. which means that there may be a church record in the First Presbyterian Church, Old South listing her age as 28.  (We haven’t found this source yet).

This is all we know of Dinah — we don’t know if she was born to a Shackford, married a Shackford, or was someone who assumed the name of a Shackford.  Perhaps we’ll solve this mystery someday…
