Susan K Shackford, the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy (Kimball) Shackford was born November 7, 1809 in Allenstown, New Hampshire.
Susan married James Morrison, a farmer in Pembroke, on June 14, 1832. Five years later her father died leaving Susan and her sister two dollars. James died in Pembroke on August 27, 1853. In 1860 Susan was living with two of her children, Henry and Mary and reported real estate value of $2500 and a personal estate of $600. In 1870 and 1880, Susan’s son Henry was listed as head of household.
Susan died on February 11, 1894 in Pembroke of bronchitis. Susan had no will and during probate, her three children declined administration and agreed that her grandson, Horace Fowler should be the administrator . He became responsible to distribute about $600.

To the Hon. Judge of Probate for the County of Merrimack:
Respectfully Represents, Henry C. Morrison and Mary W. Morrison of
Pembroke and Abbie J Holt of Epsom,
in said county, that Susan K Morrison late of Pembroke, and
last an inhabitant, died on the 11th day of February A.D. 1894, intestate,
having at the time of her death, estate in said County; that the said petitioners are the only
children and heirs of said deceased who left no husband surviving her, that they
each decline to administrate upon said estate and recommend Horace
Lawler of Epsom in said County as a suitable person for that trust.
